  • Bunker Cut | Ondřej Bělica

Bunker Cut The central chapter of the Bunker Kunst project is a physical act of architectural section through a bunker revealing the concept, technology, scale and corporeality of the Czechoslovak light fortification vz.37, type A-160, ŘOP 1263 in Vratěnín. This indelible gesture leads to the deactivation of the war mission of the bunker and elevates this utilitarian monolithic unit to a sculptural-environmental object. The oblique cut opens up the impregnable structure and the physical connection between the interior and the exterior. An important moment is the letting of daylight into the concrete shelter and the visual connection with the church tower. In opposition to the technical-historical and museum approaches to Czechoslovak fortifications, this project is moving in an experimental direction that raises the issue of post-war heritage in relation to current and future generations. • Památník válečným veteránům | Ondřej Bělica

Monument to war veterans The memorial tells the story of the flag, which together with the soldiers experiences all the events on the missions and thus describes the very story of the soldiers - future veterans. The individual parts of the park are connected by a flying bronze sculpture of the flag, which shows veteranism as a dramatic journey from the beginning to the upward take-off. The statue is the result of capturing the flying Czech national flag in individual sequences .: 1 / Beginning 2 / Flight 3 / Takeoff MS Park letců, Ostrava, 2020 / Competition proposal - 2nd prize Collaboration: Martin Blažek + Jan Adamus ( gimonfu. ) ← BACK TO SPACES

Gallery space revitalization to the clear and open space for contemporary exhibition - Brno, Czechia Young Gallery The Young Gallery is an important exhibition space located on the ground floor of the building, but it seems as if it is not quite at home here. The proposal envisages the removal of the metal railing and cubic lining, which until now function as a barrier in the gallery and divide the exhibition area and the corridor. By creating long wooden stairs that connect to the trapezoidal staircase to the next floor, the two spaces are opened and connected. An important element in the gallery is the floor, which should be done here in cast concrete screed of gray color. www.galerie-tic.cz Collaboration with Martin Blažek ← BACK TO SPACES

Water element on Dominican Square A new water element for Brno as a reaction to a specific area and disagreements about the appearance of the new landmark of Dominican Square. A fountain that cannot be seen, but effectively fulfills its purpose. A fountain that fits into the folklore of Brno's sculptures and events. The fountain area is delimited by four plane trees in the middle of Dominican Square. The paved square is arid and overheated on sunny days. Plane trees that could improve the situation in the future are still suffering. We design a complete refreshment of the space, cooling of paving, irrigation of trees and work with microclimate. An inconspicuous but effective fountain. The golden water carpet of individual fluttering strands flows through the joints of the paving stones, just below the surface. The shimmer of the reflections is supported by the golden color of the epoxy layer in the joints. As you move through the square, one observes golden reflections. The fountain does not become a new landmark or obstacle, it is sunk under the walking area. The water flowing down the square cools the cobblestones and evaporates. The water on the golden tray literally flows under one's feet. Brno, 2021 / Competition proposal - 3rd prize Collaboration: Martin Blažek ( gimonfu. ) ← BACK TO SPACES

Section paintings The collection of cut paintings works with this traditional artistic medium in a minimalist and sculptural way. The ornaments are made by cuts with a hand-held Japanese saw. Practically, it is the interposition of a cutting plane with a stretched painting canvas on a wooden frame or a group of canvases. The cut of the canvas creates geometric, modular figures of various formats and compositions. Gesto accentuates the reduction of creative tools and the use of the cut as the most imaginative display method. As it is generally used in architecture and engineering (floor plan, section, side section,...) The result of the section is not destruction, but the doubling of the object - positive - negative. • Památník Miloše Formana | Ondřej Bělica

Miloš Forman Memorial ČÁSLAV MILOS FORMANOV - Art competition - 3rd prize The monument to Miloš Forman is depicted as a large circular table, standing in the middle of the crossroads, diagonally connecting the corners of Comenius Square. On the table there is a feast fixed in the form of bronze objects. The design interprets Forman's characteristic dramaturgical space around the table, where the most important stories that Forman told so masterfully take place. There is also a certain absurdity of the situation, love for recession, gastronomy, people and deep topics. The feast features cast objects from Forman's life, his relatives, colleagues, friends and film characters. Miloš Forman himself has his place at the table. It is a portrait of him captured through his favorite activities using significant objects. Mary, sausage, beer, cigar and Oscar. Opposite this place are Forman's characteristic glasses and a pen through which we can look at the world, Forman' s place at the table and vice versa. This table thus becomes a public space in the center of gravity of the park and offers an opportunity to meet with a panoramic view. An important function of the sculpture is the creation of a practically usable dining table during events - M. Forman' s anniversary, food festival and summer cinema. The table should be used for joint dining, at least every year for a feast on the anniversary of Miloš Forman' s birth - an already existing event of eating Forman's favorite sausage and beer. Abbreviation to feast with Miloš Forman. Visitors will literally have dinner with Miloš Forman and become an integral part of the statue and his monument. "As his good friends, but perhaps also the wider public know, Miloš Forman liked company and especially liked to share three ordinary things in it: good food, a good cigar and a good Mariah game." • Yellow Drops | Ondřej Bělica

Yellow Drops This series of steel paintings works with the industrial blueprint of warning signage, which is intrinsically linked to steel and the post-industrial Beskydy region. The linear motifs are formed by drops of paint, which interact interestingly on the reflective, polished surface with an observer. The images thus create several visual spatial plans.
