- Kysuce, krajina a lide | Ondřej Bělica
Kysuce, landscape and people The aim of the diploma thesis is to design an impulse which, through architecture and the creation of landscape elements in the home landscape, will help to restore the relationship between man and landscape. With small interventions of a community nature, it is possible to activate the environment and the minds of the inhabitants. Underline the beauty of the landscape and the man in it. It is a series of landscape interventions complemented by a set of wooden buildings that are loosely inspired by local folk architecture. Based on the knowledge of previous generations, we are able to have a meaningful dialogue with the landscape and pass on a beautiful and prosperous landscape to future generations. So how to restore the natural relationship landscape - culture - man? Perhaps much needs to be reconsidered and returned to the natural logic of landscape and architecture. - Bunker Cut | Ondřej Bělica
Bunker Cut The central chapter of the Bunker Kunst project is a physical act of architectural section through a bunker revealing the concept, technology, scale and corporeality of the Czechoslovak light fortification vz.37, type A-160, ŘOP 1263 in Vratěnín. This indelible gesture leads to the deactivation of the war mission of the bunker and elevates this utilitarian monolithic unit to a sculptural-environmental object. The oblique cut opens up the impregnable structure and the physical connection between the interior and the exterior. An important moment is the letting of daylight into the concrete shelter and the visual connection with the church tower. In opposition to the technical-historical and museum approaches to Czechoslovak fortifications, this project is moving in an experimental direction that raises the issue of post-war heritage in relation to current and future generations. INTERTREE S "InterTrees" is a series of sculptural works materializing the space between tree branches through innovative techniques. Spaces wrapped with string are filled with materials like concrete, plaster, or pressed wood chips, creating casts that capture nature's invisible structures. Each piece uniquely merges material and conceptual elements, referencing both organic and abstract forms, and offering new perspectives on natural and man-made environments. These works reflect a fascinating connection between the tangible and the intangible, with each object bearing unique textures and forms, presenting a fresh view on traditionally unseen natural motifs. - Památník Ferdinanda Peroutky | Ondřej Bělica
Ferdinand Peroutka Memorial The monument to Ferinand Peroutka is made up of the word PRESENCE. This term is characteristic for Peroutka, not only because it forms the title of one of the most important works of the legendary journalist - the daily Přítomnost, but also characterizes the author's entire work and fate. In his practice, he relentlessly dealt with the daily mapping of current events - the present. In his case, it was very variable, and socio-political events are strongly reflected in his literary work, opinions and life attitudes. An important moment is also the point of view and the change of perspective on the observed facts over time and the ability to interpret them. Thanks to his constant and daily comments and influencing the present, we are able to form an idea of the entire epoch from the First Republic, through the Second World War to the rise of communism, within the framework of a longer period of time - his life - through his work. It is a minimalist typographic sculpture, which, however, thanks to the perspective deformation, creates a dimensional flat object that has a down-to-earth character. The effort is not to create a visual or spatial barrier. On the contrary, its axes point and connect surrounding objects into a single focal point. The location of the focal point of the statue is also appropriate, i.e. the legibility of the message. It is the place where Peroutka entered the park from his house. This is located at a fork in the road when a decision needs to be made as to which path to take. Consequently, with the movement of the pedestrian, intelligibility is lost and deformed in various ways, although the presence is still physically present. The presence passes them by and most of the time it is imperceptible and invisible to us. It depends on the right point of view. Long live the legacy of Ferdinand Peroutka ← BACK TO SPACES
